We are happy to report that the legislative allowance for expert reports has been increased from $100 to $350 as a result campaigning by Zubin Hiramanek since 2015.
For years, it has been difficult to recover the full cost of expert reports through Court due to rule 2.9(4)(c) of Local Court Rules 2009. The rule placed a cap of $100 on how much it was possible to recover for cost of assessment reports in claims under $10,0000.
We started working on this problem in 2015 by making submissions to Chief Magistrate about how much assessment reports cost in NSW.
It took a long time, but finally the rule has been updated.
As a result of this change, repairers will keep more money in their pocket when doing insurance claims.Tags:
