Insurers fear that the California Department of Insurance’s production of a suggested but not required method for conducting auto body labor rate surveys would wind up being the only format accepted by the department, a legislative analyst wrote in April. “The current DOI regulation governing labor rate surveys is not couched as a mandate,” California Assembly Insurance Committee analyst Mark Rakich wrote to the panel in April. Founders of the brand-new Kansas Auto Body Association structured the group to avoid the mistakes that plagued or even ended other trade associations, according to President and co-founder Jeff Oldenettel. Assuming the new KABA succeeds — and the two-week-old trade group already shows signs of being a hit — the thought process Oldenettel described May 7 might provide a playbook for repairers seeking to establish an association in their own states. The insured was concerned about diminished value as they could see the vehicle was just not right. Colour is noticeably different to screen pillar and the door gap is narrow and not flush to the door. The owner was not aware of the change in policy so they took the car to the Partner Repairer Rigoli Smash at Campsie. If you have had you car repaired and want a free inspection give me a call.

Honda proved the folly of deviating from these rules by crash-testing an improperly sectioned 2014 Acura MDX, one of the first vehicles to carry the original hot-stamped door ring configuration. It seems unlikely this would change under the more advanced ArcelorMittal-Honda design, and shops disregarding Acura repair procedures would likely do so at theirs and their customers’ peril, given the role of the structure in crash protection.
ArcelorMittal last month gave the world a closer look at what it called the “world’s first inner and outer door ring system,” an ultra-high-strength steel design collision repairers wil…

A NRMA insured not at fault took the advice of Teleclaims and allowed her vehicle to be repaired by the Partner Repairer (RPM Narellan) who does Fixed Cost repairs. Yet another example of how the Fixed Cost repair model does not indemnify the customer. The authorised rectification includes new Rear Bumper, Beaver Panel & Liftgate. When will the assessor be held accountable for allowing the wrong method and incomplete repair? Cycle time for repairs was 15 days. If you have a choice of repairer policy we recommend you exercise this choice carefully.Rectification images from the independent non-contracted repairer to follow.
